Dr. Anna Rief is a board-certified adult psychiatrist dedicated to providing evidence-based psychiatric care for adults across the lifespan. She brings extensive experience from diverse clinical settings, including academic institutions, a large multi-specialty outpatient group practice, correctional health, clinical supervision, and telemedicine.
Dr. Rief is committed to offering comprehensive, personalized, and compassionate care. She believes trust and clear communication form the foundation of a meaningful therapeutic relationship.
In 2025, Dr. Rief established Anna Rief, MD to provide patients with direct access to care that includes integrated psychotherapy and medication management, whole-person support, collaboration with other providers, and continuity of care - without the limitations often found in larger clinic settings.
Dr. Rief received her B.A. with high honors in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley and her M.D. from the University of California, Davis, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in recognition of academic excellence and leadership.
She completed her Adult Psychiatry Residency at Stanford University School of Medicine, where she served as Chief Resident and was honored with the Outstanding Resident Award for clinical excellence and dedication to education. Following residency, she pursued a Neuropsychiatric Fellowship at Stanford, acquiring advanced expertise in the evaluation and management of complex neuropsychiatric conditions including neurodevelopmental disorders, epilepsy, movement disorders, and cognitive disorders.
